Discover a Hidden Orlando

                When we think of Orlando we think of the theme parks and the nightlife, which is why many tourists come to Orlando. Did you know there are places in Orlando where you can go explore and that have nothing to do with the theme parks? Well on my adventures throughout the city I have wanted to find several places that I can share with you to show you how beautiful Orlando is away from the theme parks. Also the best part is it will not break your budget. How about that? This is especially fun for the outdoor enthusiast preferably for the beginner, but if you just like a nice quiet place to walk in nature this will definitely fulfill that urge. This park is an easy ride from any where in Orlando and will not break your budget, but you're on vacation right, so why does it matter? 

                

                This park located in the Thornton Park neighborhood is right off the beaten path and is full of greenery, great picture spots and even has a waterfall and several bridges. Once I arrived at this park I was actually quite amazed because in order to get to the park you have to walk down a set of stairs. The park is actually located in a small ravine and on the way down you can hear the waterfall it's almost as if you have been taken to the shire (you know the one from the famous movies). The pictures do no justice to the beauty of this park. The path you walk on is not paved, which actually makes it the best part. There are several benches for you to sit on if you want to just soak it all in. 


                The curious thing is that there is a beautiful bridge that lets you walk underneath it. The Washington St bridge, constructed in 1926 by The Concrete Steel Company out of Miami, replaced the old wooden bridge built in the 1800's. It is an unusual design and not one you will see in Orlando. There is a creek right under the bridge that has waterfalls and even has a hidden Buddha, if you look hard enough you can find it right under the bushes and by the edge of the creek. 


                So the next time you book your trip to Orlando and you want to get away from the theme parks and the crowds make sure to take a few hours or maybe a day and go explore the City. This is one park you most definitely have to see, feel, and enjoy.

    Seems like a cool little place to visit. I enjoyed reading on the hidden buddha. Wow, I have to definitely check this out.

Taxi or Rideshare?

  Ride Share or Taxi?                      This is a great question, as we have become accustomed to using  ride share to get around. Basically ride share has become our way of life and it is fairly safe in spite of the horror stories you read, which are not frequent. Aren't we glad?
